Escalading Adventures in The Crew

My to my own surprise, I have been spending a lot of time in The Crew and not so much in the other games I currently have. Part of the reason has been the rendered scenery. I have always marveled at how some programmers can create such amazing environments in the digital realm and I for one, like to take as much of it in as I can. I have done this before, from driving a tank, flying combat aircraft or skippering a warship, this time I will just drive around in Free Roam.

Plus, I have also working on upgrading my vehicles, especially the Cadillac Escalade which has become an unexpected favorite of mine. A decent street performer, adept on dirt and snowy roads and a little underwhelming as a total off-road vehicle, but I am changing that....

Next to Winter is Coming for Dirt Spec, I think I am going to like this event too!

Recently, there has been a bit of a game changer, to use that phrase here. Up until now, I have played a little of the storyline and explored this world solo. However, I discovered that I wasn't the only lost and lonely soul to roam the landscape.

On occasion, other players have either magically appeared or come racing across the ground, ram me (at times, knocking me a fair distance) and speed off as if this was a normal and accepted behavior. Other times, I am just driving along, minding my own business and become the target of an impromptu chase (those can be fun too, some of those players just aren't prepared for my bag of getaway tricks).

It's the not-so-negative folks I want to talk about here. A few players have made a more positive connection with me and we start a few adventures together. Despite a few communication barriers (hard to voice chat when I don't have a microphone for my Xbox One), there is still fun to be had and bonuses to collect....

Then in the middle of last night, I was struck with a sudden revelation that woke me from my sleep. From my own limited experience and short time in The Crew, my mind put together the wild idea that this game was the coexistence of the Multiplayer soul of Need for Speed World and a re-imagined and much expended environment of Test Drive Unlimited.

What do you think? Comments are always welcome.
